Job Description:  The Communications Operator will be responsible for answering and dispatching calls for service to the police department and fire department.

Duties Include:  Answering telephone and 911 calls, receiving and transmitting messages via radio and teletype.  This position also requires that applicants be available to work shift work and be able to respond to work on short notice in case of an emergency.

Minimum Requirements:  Applicants must be a least 21 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, one year dispatch experience (preferred), be able to pass a thorough background investigation, be able to pass a vocabulary and reading comprehension exam, and a drug test.

Salary Range:  $12.73 - $15.51/hour
