Sailboat Celebration
destroyed in Hurricane Ike Sept 12, 2008.

great Joy this boat brought to all who boarded her!
On
a sad note the boat we use to take so many of the pictures on Kemah.net
was lost.
Celebration the 42' Catalina (552) was a huge part of
our life. She
sank in the harbor at
Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, TX across the bridge from Kemah.

Hurricane Ike's eye went over area below.
A month before the storm.
Celebration is
all tied up in her slip at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Tx. to ride
out storm as Hurricane Ike nears.!
The boat on
the left of Celebration is Angel Wind the boat Black
sailboat on the
right was the one on
top of the sunk Celebration after
the storm and both boats were pushed some five slips north .
Tide/surge is
coming in some 24 hrs before storm. Note:
Lackwood Yacht Club's Cabanas in background were
all destroyed by the Hurricane!
Tide/surge is
coming in some 24 hrs before storm in Kemah.
Tom's Flower
bloomed the night before the storm. The proverbial calm
before the storm.

boat Celebration is lifted on his birthday Sept. 30th!
Note large hole in Celebration's
port side forward of mid ship in the shape of a V probably from being
rammed by another boat.
Celebration raised and
floating a few minuets before lifting her to be trucked to salvage
yard. She sank again before lifting her.
All Cleats held
even this one. Catalina builds a strong boat.

Celebration showed up in force to see her raised.
We
could not be happier with Boats US .
I worked with this great organization for many years at Underwater Inc.

engine lifting ring
due to the wild wave action of
Hurricane Ike. The diver in
