Independence Day Parade To
Kick Off The 4th of July
Activities
Kemah, Texas - Kicking off the
two-day Independence Day Celebration activities is the Kemah 4th of
July Parade on Saturday July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with the Children's
Parade starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade line up is behind the
Kemah Visitor Center with the parade route travelling along the Kemah
Lighthouse District.The theme for the parade this year is "Hats off to Heroes". Floats, cars, trucks, golf carts and bicycles will be decorated in patriotic themes. Come see the fun and catch the beads, candy and prizes. The Parade Awards will be given by Mayor Matt Wiggins at the 'After Parade Party' at T-Bone Toms at 707 Hwy. 146. Prizes, live music and entertainment for the whole family will take place.
Additional activities start at Noon on July 3rd with the American Spirit Boat Parade that will travel along the Kemah Boardwalk. Coast Guard boats, commercial and pleasure boats will be decorated to add to the patriotic festivities.
On Sunday July 4th is the Kemah Fireworks extravaganza. From the Kemah Boardwalk and surrounding areas all will be able to see the fantastic light show over Galveston Bay. The annual fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
